HHASTE
The aim of HASTE (Human Machine Interface And the Safety of Traffic in Europe) is to develop methodologies and guidelines for the assessment of In-Vehicle Information Systems (IVIS). To date, there have been attempts to provide manufacturers and testing authorities with a set of guidelines to assess the likely impacts of IVIS on the driving task, usually in the form of a checklist. Such checklists provide a tool that enables the identification of likely problems but they do not attempt to quantify safety problems. This project is fundamental to the development of a valid, reliable and efficient tool that will aid testing authorities in their safety evaluation of IVIS.
Hellenic Institute of Transport (Ελληνικό Ινστιτούτο Μεταφορών)
HITs main objective is the conduct and support of applied research activities in the field of transportation in Greece. More specifically on issues relating to organization, operation, planning and development of infrastructure, and standardization, economic analysis, management, vehicle technology, and impact assessment of land, maritime, air, and multimodal transport services. Also training and education activities in related fields, dissemination of research activities and the Representation of Greece, in Transport Research and other relevant scientific fora abroad.
Hellenic Ministry of Transport and Communications
The mission of the Ministry of Transport and Communication is:
- to plan and implement national policy and create the appropriate institutional framework at European and international level for the development of top quality transport, mass-transit, telecom and postal services under conditions of healthy competition;
- to ensure the safety of transport, mass-transit and telecommunications;
to promote the Information Society;
- to contribute to the country's economic development and to the improvement of its citizens quality of life in the areas falling under the Ministry's responsibility.
HERMES
The EU HERMES project focuses on creating an easy-to-use training package for driving teachers on the subject of ‘best communication skills especially coaching’ in classroom, in car and on the track. A multi-national team of experienced driving teachers, psychologists, educational and coaching experts have been assembled for this purpose.
Highway Safety Research Center Library
Research Publications of the University of North Carolina Highway Safety Research Center. The HSRC Library provides access to traffic safety research information from the United States, and around the world. Library collections reflect the focus of the Center's research, and concentrate on human factors, civil engineering, and design of facilities for pedestrians, cyclists, and motor vehicles.
Highways Agency
The Highways Agency, established in 1994, is an executive agency of the Department of Environment, Transport and the Regions. The Secretary of State is responsible for overall Government policy on motorways and trunk roads in England and determining the strategic framework and the financial resources within which it operates.
Humanist
The aim of the Network of Excellence HUMANIST is to federate the researches in the domain of user/system interactions and their applications on road telematics and driver assistance systems and to create a European Virtual Centre of Excellence on HUMAN centred design for Information Society Technologies applied to road transport.
HUMOS2
The objective of the EC funded HUMOS2 (HUman MOdels for Safety) project is to develop Finite Element (FE) human models representing a large range of the European population and allowing an accurate injury risk prediction for victims involved in road accidents.
