Laboratório Nacional de Engenharia Civil (LNEC) - PORTUGAL

The National Civil Engineering Laboratory (LNEC) is a research institution in the field of civil engineering. It is a governmental body, with its own legal standing under the Ministry for Public Works, Transport and Housing. Applied research related to transportation is carried out the Transportation Department including infrastructures (roads, airports, railways) at the different phases of their life cycle. The LNEC has previously participated in European research cooperation activities related to road safety e.g. COST, SAFESTAR and GADGET. LNEC also participates also in several international road safety organisations (FERSI, ETSC, PIARC C13 Committee, CEN TC 226).
